Система аллогенных антигенов (имеют липопротеиновую структуру) в крови человека, независимая от факторов, определяющих группы крови; Р.-ф. кодируются 3 парами аллельных генов, кластеризованных на участке p36.2-p34 хромосомы 1; главным в медицинской практике является Р.-ф. (антиген) Rh0 (D) - он может присутствовать (резус-положительный тип) или отсутствовать (резус-отрицательный тип), причем соотношение этих типов значительно варьирует у представителей разных рас человека (от 85:15 до 99:1); Р.-ф. был открыт К.Ландштейнером с соавт. в 1940.

Резус-фактор, Rh — антиген, присутствующий в эритроцитах людей. Rh-система в крови человека включает в себя группу антигенов, имеющих липопротеиновую структуру, которая не зависит от факторов, определяющих группы крови. Наиболее важные из этих антигенов были обнаружены у резус-обезьян. В медицинской практике чаще встречается Р.-ф. Rh+ (Rho или D). У людей, имеющих генотип r/r, не образуются антигены, и их называют Rh-отрицательными (Rh-). У особей с генотипами R/R и R/r образуются антигены (Rh+) и их называют резус-положительными. У Rh--матерей, беременных Rh+-ребенком, вырабатываются антитела против ребенка, вызывая у него развитие эритробластоза плода (erythroblastosis fetalis). Rh-генетический локус располагается на дистальном конце длинного плеча 1-й хромосомы (см. RhoGAM). Соотношение Rh+ и Rh- типов Р.-ф. существенно варьирует у представителей разных рас людей — от 85:15 до 99:1. Р.-ф. Открыт К.Ландштейнером с соавт. в 1940 г.
